Did you know that jam is made of almost 50% added sugar, that’s alongside the naturally occurring sugars found in fruit! But there are times when a breakfast or dessert screams out for a dollop of loveliness…that’s where our Chia Jam comes in. Made from just fruit, chia seeds and a little rice syrup this is perfect for adding to creamy porridge or whipping up a quick dessert.
With only a few ingredients, the recipe is very simple and it will keep in the fridge for 4-5 days.
Blueberry Chia Jam
2 tbsp chia seeds
2 tbsp rice syrup (optional)
1 tbsp water
1. Add the blueberries to a small food processor and blitz for 30 seconds
2. Add the chia seeds, rice syrup and water and blitz for a further 10 seconds
3. Decant into an airtight container and store in the fridge. The jam will turn into a nice jelly-like consistency once it’s been in the fridge for an hour
