We all need a little extra help keeping warm now the cold weather has set in, what better way than with a healthy hot chocolate?
This recipe adds ginger and cinnamon to add an extra hit of warmth and some health benefits; both ginger and cinnamon are powerful anti-oxidants and anti-inflammatorys.
Gingery Hot Chocolate
500ml milk of choice – I used Rude Health’s Coconut Milk
1 tbsp cacao
2 tsp ground ginger
1 ground cinnamon
1 tbsp raw honey
4 tbsp coconut cream
- Add the milk to a saucepan and warm over a medium heat
- Once steam starts to rise, add the cacao and spices and bring to the boil
- You don’t have to do this step however it makes the drink nice and frothy – add the milk to a blender along with the honey and coconut cream and blitz for 30 seconds before serving in a mug
