Mango Slushie

Slushie option 2You could argue that this easy dessert is closer to an ice cream than a slushie but why bother, just eat it! Perfect for big & little kids, this sugar free slushie is delicately sweet and super tasty, I’m pretty sure it will be your go to recipe to cool down this summer.

Mango has some hefty anti-oxidant properties which can protect against breast cancer, colon cancer, prostate cancer & leukaemia. Packed with immune boosting Vitamin C, this fruit is high in fibre so helps lower your cholesterol and aids your digestion along with Vitamin A which famously is great for your eye health. A little known fact about the humble mango is its great for your skin both when eaten and used externally – in fact some people even use it as a face mask as it is meant to clear out your pores! A fantastic nutrient dense all rounder, this dessert means you can enjoy it guilt free – so enjoy!

Mango Slushie

2 cups of frozen mango
1 cup of milk (any milk of your choice)
1 tbsp maple syrup
1 tsp vanilla extract

1. Place the mango into a food processor and pulse to start breaking up the mango

2. Mix the maple syrup and vanilla extract into the milk and slowly put into the food processor whilst it is running on a medium speed. The milk will start to blend with the mango creating a loose ice cream like effect. I like to stop while there are still a few chunks of mango left but you can blend until smooth if you prefer a lump free consistency.

3. Serve immediately!
