Spiced Pumpkin Smoothie Bowl

While I love the thought of one, I’ve never tried a spiced pumpkin latte. All of the ‘themed’ coffees seem to be laden with sugar, take the pumpkin version which has a whopping 10 teaspoons of sugar! That’s pretty crazy, huh?

I’ve chosen an easy way to make this tasty, autumnal smoothie bowl as I’ve opted for pumpkin puree from a tin however you can easily make your own by roasting pumpkin chunks and then blitzing in the food processor. Wait until the day after halloween and you can pick up pumpkins for pennies, store them in a dry place and they’ll keep for up to three months!

Spiced Pumpkin Smoothie Bowl
Serves 2 

3 tbsp pumpkin puree
1.5 tbsp vanilla extract
1 tbsp nut butter
1 banana
1 cup of milk – I use almond
1 tsp Cinnamon
1/4 tsp Nutmeg
1/4 tsp Ginger

Topping ideas –
Fruit
Nuts
Seeds
Coconut
Yogurt
Cacao nibs

  1. Place all the smoothie ingredients in a blender and blitz until fully combined then for a further minute for a thick and creamy smoothie
  2. Pour the smoothie into two bowls and then sprinkle with a election of toppings. I opted for sliced banana, coconut yogurt, homemade sugar free caramel sauce, cacao nibs and bee pollen
