Gingery Hot Chocolate


We all need a little extra help keeping warm now the cold weather has set in, what better way than with a healthy hot chocolate?

This recipe adds ginger and cinnamon to add an extra hit of warmth and some health benefits; both ginger and cinnamon are powerful anti-oxidants and anti-inflammatorys.

Gingery Hot Chocolate
Serves 2

500ml milk of choice – I used Rude Health’s Coconut Milk
1 tbsp cacao
2 tsp ground ginger
1 ground cinnamon
1 tbsp raw honey
4 tbsp coconut cream

  1. Add the milk to a saucepan and warm over a medium heat
  2. Once steam starts to rise, add the cacao and spices and bring to the boil
  3. You don’t have to do this step however it makes the drink nice and frothy – add the milk to a blender along with the honey and coconut cream and blitz for 30 seconds before serving in a mug
